The Progressive Scan feature is a new technological breakthrough applied to high-resolution TV and DVD players. This method of scanning can display the entire Frame with only one scan of the machine.

While the existing Interlace Scan method scans two fields in turn, the Progressive Scan method can display only one frame per scan.

The 3:2 Pulldown Progressive Scan displays all 480 lines in one pass to provide a high vertical resolution and flicker-free, high-density image. Images do not suffer the typical subject movement that is characteristic of the interlaced scanning methods.
