This enables you to fire your coils.
By using multiple coils, you eliminate the use of a distributor cap and rotor button.

If using a distributor cap and rotor button to distribute the spark 1 igniter is needed.

4 cyl with 4 coils, select a 4 coil igniter.
6 cyl with 6 coils, select a 3 coil igniter X2.
8 cyl with 8 coils, select a 4 coil igniter X2.

4 cyl with 2 coils in wasted spark, select a 2 coil igniter.
