Ethanol is a high octane fuel enabling the engine to produce more power than normal petrol by allowing more ignition timing.
The EMS Motorsport and EM-Tech ECUs can take advanatge of this while still allowing the use normal petrol or any blend of ethanol and petrol.
The E85 Flex Fuel Sensor measures the ethanol content in the fuel and the ECU can read this in order to adjust fuel and ignition to compensate according to the amount of ethanol in the fuel.
